There are two main options for pupils taking GCSE science in the UK: Dual Award and Triple Award. In Dual Award Science pupils are awarded two grades across the three sciences, and in Triple Award Science they are awarded one grade for each subject.

I would be interested to see how the take up related to the average GCSE grades for students, is it to do with aspiration or to do with opportunity? I would also be interested in seeing the effect on the EBacc on triple science take up as at our school it has reduced numbers by half in one fell swoop.
