Duct tape has been used many times in space. In the photograph above it is being used to extend the sprayguards of the Apollo 17 lunar rover to prevent “rooster tails“.
It has also been used to:
- Fix a safety-jet backpack
- Improvise a makeshift hacksaw
- Create a improvised CO2 filter after an accident on the Apollo 13 mission
- Build an on-board dinner table
